Setting Up MySQL

After completing the instructions in the "Setting Up Nessus" section, we will see the following once we return to the Inprotect page:

We'll select the Setup button for the mysqld service which will take us to the following page (NOTE: Most likely you'll need to scroll down to see what's shown below):

For this example, we will simply press the Setup/Start MySQL Server button to setup and start the mysqld service using the default settings (NOTE: You will need to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see what is shown below).

It will take a few moments for the initialization of the mysql server to complete. Once it does, we will see the message "Successfully started up a MySQL database server..." at the bottom of the log file. We will then press the Exit button which will return us to the mysql page showing us that the mysql service is running.

Now that mysql is setup and running, we'll select the "Home" icon on the top navigation bar to return to the main index page. From there, we'll go back to the Inprotect page as described in the "Finding Inprotect in the NST WUI" section.
