Maybe. We don't have a 802.11a network to experiment with. However, I have been successful in configuring kismet to monitor for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies by specifying madwifi_ag in the kismet configuration file. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to verify it actually works as I don't have another piece of equipment to generate 802.11a traffic.
