The 1.4.1 and later releases of the Network Security Toolkit should work very well within a VMware virtual machine. These newer releases of the Network Security Toolkit will include the nstvmware script and the VMware modules/tools to maximize the performance of the Network Security Toolkit when running from within a Virtual machine.

We have verified that the 1.4.0 and 1.2.3 releases of the Network Security Toolkit will also work within the VMware Player. However, these older releases do not include the nstvmware helper script, the VMware modules, or the VMware tools.
