Adding a X server to the Network Security Toolkit distribution had originally been a bonus. We did not originally intend for one to use the Network Security Toolkit as a X based workstation. In traditional system/network administration fashion, we will often run the Network Security Toolkit distribution on systems which do not have video cards or keyboards and make do with serial and ssh connections.

However, as time has gone by we have found ourselves making more and more use from X based applications. As such, we have spent more time and effort in improving the Network Security Toolkit X environment.

Does the Network Security Toolkit Support X?

Yes, however, the Network Security Toolkit does not bring up X by default.
